Durban Green Corridors, a Non-profit Company, wishes to appoint a full time trails manager to manage the development and maintenance of its trails network, which are crucial to the organisation’s operations.
Recognising the critical importance of community and youth development, as well as the environmentally and socially responsible management of public space, DGC seeks to make an impact in ‘off-the-beaten track’ and adventure tourism by developing products which, while attracting local and visiting recreation-seekers, will also empower poor communities and provide growth opportunities for their youth.
The successful applicant must have experience in the building and maintaining trails for use by mountain bikers, hikers and or trail runners and possess the necessary skills to
- plan a programme of work,
- manage supervisory staff,
- identify and map suitable routes for new trails
He/she must have a valid driving licence, basic computer skills, the willingness to work outside of normal office hours and the ability to work collaboratively with other people. He/she will answer to the Chief Executive Officer and accountability will be governed by the management of performance.
The closing date for the receipt of applications is 22nd March 2017.
