Our Journey

Green Corridors is a social-purpose and impact-focused organisation that aims to see communities thrive in balance with the habitats around them.

Green Corridors co-creates open spaces in key local destinations that balance environmental ‘musts’ with the challenges and opportunities of the communities that live, work and thrive within them. From these spaces and our purpose-projects and tourism experiences have been activated adding the critical layer of socio-economic sustainability to our ecosystem.

By employing a layered partnership structure, we look to ensure the sustained involvement of multiple stakeholders in any given area. This ensures a resilient structure that can survive the cyclical nature of commercial sponsorships and campaigns.

Our guided and self-guided canoeing tours will give you a new experience of Durban and its surrounding waterways. From the backdrop of rugged cliffs to the open water of the mangrove estuary, both dam and river packages are available and are ideal for families looking for a fun outdoor activity.

uMngeni Canoe Trips

Starting at the mouth of the uMngeni river, locally known as Blue Lagoon, guided and self-guided canoe trips will take you up river to Conought Bridge and back down towards the river mouth.

The uMngeni River is famous for its beautiful estuary, where the river’s freshwater joins the salty sea, creating the perfect environment for a huge mangrove population – one of the southern-most systems in the world. Gain insight into the river’s flora and history of the estuary river diversion, and spot Cormorants, Egyptian Goose, Grey Herons and Pelicans along the way.

  • This is a 2-hour guided tour that starts at the GreenHub

Wild Inanda

From the eNanda Adventure Centre, you can enjoy a guided paddle across the Inanda dam taking in the breath-taking scenery that surrounds you even catching glimpses of striking bird-life along the way. On the route of the Dusi Canoe Marathon you can also experience a small part of this iconic race-route first-hand. The protected bays around the dam make perfect picnic spots and the ideal option for a family day out.
