This two hour guided nature trail at uMgeni Adventures meanders along the shores of uMgeni River will introduce learners to a fascinating variety of birds (including Fish eagles, Pelicans, Kingfishers and range of rare waterfowl in summer)
Learners will also learn about the rich history and culture of the area and get introduced to interesting information on trees and the ecology of the mangrove areas. And it's loads of fun too, watching Mangrove Crabs dash out their holes to grab leaves you drop and exploring the myriad of mangrove and estuary life is hugely rewarding for learners.
This program is intended to be a fun morning out without a fixed program but maintaining an educational slant. Learners are exposed to various elements of the natural sciences as well as important issues relating to water saving and river health.
