Just a short hop down into the valley from the Hillcrest area or a short 15-minute drive from eNanda Adventures is the magnificent Lower Molweni Valley, a hikers, birders & nature lovers paradise.

A community developed network of nature trails lead hikers through the spectacular rugged cliffs and forests of the area, just on the outskirts of the Kraanzkloof Nature Reserve, which is a biodiversity treasure trove including 50 mammals, 253 bird, 35 reptiles, 150 butterflies, 273 tree and over 1500 plant species.

The incredible birdlife of the area includes a chance to see African Crowned Eagle, Gorgeous Bush Shirke and arguably one of the best areas in South Africa to find the elusive African Finfoot which frequents the fast-flowing streams in the area.

Supporting tourism in the lower Molweni area plays a pivotal role in ensuring the long term conservation of this incredibly beautiful part of Durban by integrating socio-economic needs with conservation needs. Much work is being done by partners on the ground including the community of lower Molweni, Kloof Conservancy and the Philagathemba Trust around various new and exciting tourism opportunities, including a Zip Line, cultural tours and Pop up Camping, watch this space!
