Located at the mouth of the uMngeni River, lies one of the southern-most Mangrove systems in the world and one of the rarest habitats in South Africa. A guided walk along a boardwalk and meandering pathways will expose you to fascinating information on trees and the ecology of the mangrove areas; the rich history and culture of the area, and if you are lucky, you could see a variety of birds, including Fish Eagles, Pelicans and Kingfishers. You can also explore this area from the water, via a guided canoe tour that takes you up the river and right to edge of the mangroves!
