Background

Green Corridors NPC is a nonprofit company and public benefit organization currently supported by eThekweni Municipality and other private sector funders.  Green Corridors has been in operation since 2010 and in 2015 became a self-standing NPC and subsequently experienced significant expansion in the nature and scope of our work, which includes a range of focus areas from youth development to environmental management, small business development and responsible tourism.  The organization offers a range of services to varied interest groups and stakeholders from local government, tourists, private sector and various community groups.

Green Corridors is seeking to engage the services of a registered auditor to conduct its annual financial audit for 2021 and potentially for the following two years.   The organization’s annual financial year is from January to December. 

Grant funding received in 2021 financial period – R22 300 000.

Required expertise

Registered Companies or individuals quoting to undertake this work should have:

  • Required qualifications and registrations. Must be a member of IRBA and SAICA
  • Significant experience in auditing non-profit companies and understanding of ETI SARS rebates.
  • A good track record for effectively implementing financial audits.
  • Understanding of our projects related to youth development, ecotourism and environmental issues prior to commencement of the audit.
  • Having a national footprint would be advantageous.

Scope of work

  • Undertake financial audit for January – December 2021 financial year.
  • Commence with the audit by early – mid-April 2022 and complete by early – mid-May 2022, with audit report signed by 31 May 2022

Time frames

  • The closing date for quotations is 12:00 pm, Monday, 31st January 2022.
  • The appointment will be made by Friday, 11th March 2022.

Format of quotations

Narrative proposal including

  • CV’s of key personnel, qualifications or Company profile
  • Outline of experience in similar organisations/projects audited.
  • Proposed methodology/approach.
  • Ensure consistency and continuity by deploying the same team each year, and
  • Demonstrate improvement and efficiencies on annual audit, i.e. how audit fee would reduce over the 3-year period.

Pricing proposal which includes

  • Quotation for 2021 financial audit, outlining time / personnel-related costs excl of VAT.
  • Outline of all disbursements, including travel, communications and other potential expenses.
