Our Pop Up Camps are an unforgettable wild “glamping” concept for exploring some of Durban’s wildest areas in accommodation under a million stars. All our pop up campsites are managed in conjunction with the local community and include 24-hour security at all camping areas and a range of local activities from tubing to hiking or just chilling in a hammock. Our pop up camps are all run on a leave-no-trace basis, we come in set up the camp for you with everything you need and when you leave the site is cleared and returned to its original state. Each camp location includes two on-call guides who will arrange all your activities and catering (if required) as well as site assistants for cleaning and security. The idea is that you just arrive and everything is set up and ready for you to just put your feet up and soak in a bit of nature.

Essential Info

Accommodation:

Our pop up camps provide very comfortable 3x3m safari tents with two stretchers. These tents are spacious (most people can stand upright inside them) and have ample room for luggage etc… Fully waterproof and insect-proof. We can accommodate 8 people in shared accommodation.

Food & Dining:

You have the option to self-cater or take all the extra worry off your shoulders and let our guides cater for you. Our Pop Up Camps Include a central catering tent, tables, chairs, crockery, cooler boxes, camp fridges and gas stoves. If you chose to self cater you will have full use of all our catering equipment, cooler boxes and camp fridge. Our catered meals are simple but delicious, with no “typical” camp food. Menus are available on request.

All our pop up campsites are managed in conjunction with the local community and include 24-hour security at all camping areas.

Activities:

Most of our sites have a range of activities from tubing to hiking to cultural activities. While in the Valley you can also join Travis Duggan 4x4 for an unforgettable 4x4 Experience in our 10 Seater Open Land Cruiser Game Viewing Vehicle. We do recommend planning activities with our guides in advance or just put your feet up, do nothing and slow down the pace a bit.

Toilets and Showers:

Our sites are entirely off-grid (with the exception of eNanda Adventures) as a result, the showers are bucket type and chemical toilets. Basic, but hygienic and do the job. Please do not expect shiny ablution blocks.

Getting there:

Our Pop Up Camps all include transport to the site. The camp is set up ahead of your arrival, so everything is ready and waiting for you to just sit back and enjoy a bit of nature. Pick up’s and drop-offs can be arranged from any location around Durban. If you prefer to self-drive, we can send a guide with you to help you find the various sites.
